Origami Crane

Step 1

Start with a square piece of origami paper.

Step 2

Fold the paper in half diagonally and then unfold it showing a crease.

Step 3

Then, fold the paper in half diagonally again, but this time in the other direction and then unfold it showing a crease.

Step 4

Flip the paper over to the other side and fold the paper in half horizontally.

Step 5

Unfold and see the new creases and then fold the paper in half vertically.

Step 6

Unfold and see the new creases and bring the top point down to the bottom part. And fold the left and right corners both down into the center at the same time.

Now your origami piece of paper will look like a square base.

Step 7

Fold the right lower edge to the center crease.

Then, fold the left lower edge to the center crease.

Step 8

Fold the top section down.

Step 9

Unfold the steps that were done between steps (7-8).

Step 10

Pull one of the layers from the bottom.

Push the left and right edges in and then flip the origami piece to the other side.

Step 11

Then, take the lower right side and fold to the center crease as in step 7.

Fold the left side to the center crease.

Step 12

Fold the top section down.

Step 13

Unfold the steps that were done between steps (11-12).

Step 14

Pull one layer up from bottom and push both left and right edges.

Step 15

Fold the lower right and bottom left corner creating a crease.

Step 16

Flip the origami piece and fold the right lower corner to the center crease.

Step 17

Fold the left lower corner to the center crease.

Fold the lower right flap first up, then under, and lastly out to the right side.

Make these last two folds for one side of the tails.

Step 18

After all of these folds being made, open up the wings and there is the crane all finished.
